I love this cartoon most of all because of its incredible score by Scott Bradley, the MGM composer. His scores are much more subtle than those of Carl Stalling.
This cartoon is also very atmospheric. I LOVE cartoons that are set at night.
Of course Tom's song is priceless.

One of my favorites, too. T&J cartoons have a really swell flow that even some WB cartoons lack. Chuck Jones especially, feels very abrasive after watching certain Tom & Jerry shows. Clampett had that good, easy flow, too.
I like how they imagine what gals do at their vanity. Repetitively plucking their lashes sounds right to me- What do I know?
